The Buffalo Grove Stampede
An annual walk, run and wheelchair race held during BG Days weekend. The race begins and ends at the Buffalo Grove Fitness Center. The closest intersection is McHenry Road (Route. 83) and Deerfield Parkway; and, the entrance is on McHenry Road (Route. 83).

The Buffalo Grove Stampede is using the latest in race timing technology, the Chronotrack B-Tag system. Benefits include:
- The same accurate timing featured with a traditional chip.
- B-Tags are distributed on the back of individual bib numbers.
- B-Tags are for one time use and will not be collected at the finish line.
USATF Certification Numbers: Coming Soon
The Stampede is a CARA Certified race and both courses are USATF certified. It has agreed to adhere to and uphold CARA’s best practices guidelines. These guidelines embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race.

Day of Race Registration Times
Friday, September 2 at the Buffalo Grove Park District Community Arts Center from 6 - 10 pm.
Sunday, September 4 at the race: 10k from 6:30 - 7:15 am; 5k from 6:30 - 8 am.
All pre-registration must be submitted online by 5 pm on Wednesday, August 31. CARA and Buffalo Grove Fitness Center members are entitled to a $5 discount off pre-registration only.

If you are registering the day of the race, please be on time. Day of race registration ends promptly at 7:15 am for the 10K and 8 am for the 5K.
*Minimum of 10 pre-registered needed in order for wheelchair event to be held. Due to no registrants, the 2016 wheelchair event has been canceled.

Families of 3 or more members participating in the Stampede qualify for the Family Fee. No other discounts apply if using the Family Fee. The reduced rate is a per person rate. The Family Fee is available on advanced registrations only.

Cash Prizes will be given to the overall male and female winners in the 5k and 10k races and they will not be eligible for age group prizes. Cash prizes will also be given to the 1st place winners of each race category for the 5k and 10k races. Medals will be given to the top 3 finishers in each race category for the 5k and 10k races. No awards are given out for the 5k Walk.
All participants will be entered into the general prize drawing with prizes valued up to $50.
Packets may be picked up at the Community Arts Center, located at 225 McHenry Road on Friday, September 2 from 6 - 10 pm.
Day of Race (Sunday): At the registration tent from 6:30 - 8 am.
You will pick up your race shirt at packet pickup on Friday or before the race on Sunday morning. Sizes are first come first served.

For safety reasons, pets, roller blades, skateboards, strollers or bicycles of any kind will not be allowed in the 5k and 10k runs or the 5k walk.
Police and volunteer marshals will staff intersections and direct traffic, but the course will not be completely closed to traffic.
The 10k course is 3-dimensional and over 60% is on crushed stone pathways. Water stations are located near the 2 and 3 mile marks and just past the 4 and 5 mile marks.
The 5k course is flat through a residential neighborhood. There will be water stations just past the 1 mile and 2 mile marks.
